These Terms explain the conditions for using VerdantCart AI — the public website, the free VerdantCart Carbon Reports plugin from WordPress.org, and the paid VerdantCart AI Pro extension. By installing, accessing, or purchasing any of these, you agree to use them lawfully and responsibly within your WordPress and WooCommerce environment.

About these Terms
VerdantCart AI is operated from Sweden by the operator of VerdantCart AI ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms apply to anyone who visits the public website, installs the free plugin, or subscribes to VerdantCart AI Pro. By using any of these, you confirm that you have read and accept these Terms.
Use of the product
VerdantCart AI helps WooCommerce store owners measure, view, compare, and export carbon-related reporting data inside WordPress. It is intended for operational reporting, internal visibility, and sustainability-related decision support.
Free plugin license
VerdantCart Carbon Reports is distributed through WordPress.org under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later (GPLv2+). You may install, use, modify, and redistribute the free plugin code under the GPL terms. The plugin is provided "as is", without warranty, in line with the standard GPL distribution model used across WordPress.org.
Pro plugin license
VerdantCart AI Pro is a commercial extension that runs on top of the free plugin. An active subscription grants you a license to install and activate Pro on the number of WordPress sites covered by your plan — for the standard Pro plan, one (1) site. License activation, validation, deactivation, and re-activation on a new site are handled through the Freemius license API using the license key delivered at purchase. We may revoke a license that is used in violation of these Terms (for example, attempting to bypass the license check or exceed the site limit).
Subscriptions and billing
VerdantCart AI Pro is sold through Freemius as Merchant of Record. Freemius is the seller of record for these transactions, collects payment, applies any required tax (including EU VAT), issues invoices, and applies its own terms of service. Pro is billed monthly or annually based on the plan you select. Subscriptions renew automatically at the start of each billing period unless cancelled. You can manage your subscription, payment method, and invoices from the VerdantCart AI account page inside your WordPress admin, or directly from the Freemius customer portal.
Free trial
VerdantCart AI Pro includes a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. If you choose to continue after day 14, payment details are collected and your subscription begins at the plan price you selected. To avoid being charged, cancel from the VerdantCart AI account page in your WordPress admin (or from the Freemius customer portal) at any time before the trial period ends.
Refunds and cancellation
You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time from the VerdantCart AI account page inside your WordPress admin, or from the Freemius customer portal. After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Freemius as Merchant of Record and are subject to Freemius's refund policy. We will support good-faith refund requests where reasonable. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights, including any applicable EU right of withdrawal, that apply where you live.
Store data and reporting output
Reports, summaries, charts, insights, and exports are generated based on the data available in your store, including WooCommerce order data, product data, configuration settings, and supported reporting logic. The quality and completeness of reporting output depends on the accuracy and completeness of your store data.
AI provider integrations
VerdantCart AI Pro includes optional AI-generated executive summaries that you can enable by entering your own OpenAI or Anthropic Claude API key. When enabled, the plugin sends aggregated reporting metrics to the AI provider you have selected, using your API key. Your relationship with that AI provider, including their pricing, usage limits, content policies, and terms of service, is between you and the AI provider — not us. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure and for any usage charged to your provider account.
No professional advice
VerdantCart AI does not provide legal, accounting, financial, environmental certification, or regulatory compliance advice. Reporting outputs should be reviewed in the context of your own business requirements and, where needed, with qualified advisors.
Carbon calculations and estimates
Carbon figures, emissions estimates, sustainability scores, and related insights are provided as reporting estimates based on available data and calculation methods. They should not be treated as independently verified emissions statements, official certifications, or guaranteed environmental claims unless separately reviewed and verified.
Merchant responsibility
Store owners remain responsible for how they use VerdantCart AI data, including exports, customer-facing statements, marketing claims, internal reporting, business decisions, and any sustainability or ESG-related communication.
Product updates and availability
We may improve, update, adjust, replace, or remove features over time as VerdantCart AI evolves. We aim to keep the product useful and reliable, but availability of specific features may change as the product develops. Where a change materially reduces a feature you actively rely on under a paid subscription, we will aim to communicate that change in advance.
WordPress, WooCommerce, and third-party components
VerdantCart AI is intended to operate within supported WordPress and WooCommerce environments. Store configuration, hosting, theme behavior, plugin compatibility, WooCommerce settings, and third-party components may affect how features work in practice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the product, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, bypass or tamper with license validation, resell or sublicense VerdantCart AI Pro outside the terms of your plan, or use reporting output in a misleading, unlawful, or harmful way.
Intellectual property
The "VerdantCart" and "VerdantCart AI" names, logos, and other brand elements belong to us. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of those brand elements to you. The free plugin code is distributed under the GPL as described above. VerdantCart AI Pro and the commercial materials on this website remain our intellectual property, subject to the license rights expressly granted under your active subscription.
Limitation of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, VerdantCart AI is provided as a reporting tool and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, business decisions, compliance outcomes, customer claims, or third-party actions resulting from how the product or its outputs are used. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including non-waivable consumer protections.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, where the operator is established. If you use VerdantCart AI as a consumer in another country, you may also have the benefit of any non-waivable consumer protections that apply where you live, and nothing in these Terms removes those rights.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect product changes, operational needs, or legal requirements. The latest version is published on this page, and the "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
