VerdantCart AI helps WooCommerce stores estimate, understand, and reduce carbon emissions directly inside WordPress — through a free reporting plugin and an intelligence layer that adds executive reporting, AI summaries, and automation.
Why we built it
Sustainability reporting often feels complicated, expensive, or disconnected from day-to-day store operations. VerdantCart AI was built because carbon visibility should feel as natural and useful as sales reporting.
Carbon reporting inside WooCommerce
Store owners already make decisions every day based on revenue, orders, and performance. VerdantCart brings estimated carbon impact closer to those same operational decisions inside WordPress and WooCommerce — no separate dashboard, no data warehouse, no external reporting service.
Two products, one mission
VerdantCart AI ships as two products. VerdantCart Carbon Reports is a free WordPress.org plugin that provides the core reporting engine — emission calculations, dashboards, exports, and sustainability insights. VerdantCart AI Pro extends that foundation with executive reporting, AI-generated summaries, scheduled automation, customer transparency, white-label branding, and reduction goal tracking. The free plugin is the foundation. Pro is the intelligence layer.
What makes VerdantCart different
VerdantCart focuses on WooCommerce order activity, snapshot-based reporting periods, store-level totals, product emission hotspots, customer dashboards, and exportable reporting views without requiring a separate external dashboard.
Our product philosophy
Carbon reporting should be visible, understandable, and useful within normal store operations. That means clarity over noise, practical reporting over abstraction, and operational usefulness over vanity metrics.
Snapshot-based reporting
VerdantCart is designed around saved reporting snapshots. Snapshots help make period reports stable, comparable, and easier to export because historical reporting data does not constantly shift every time store data changes.
Privacy-friendly by design
The free plugin runs inside your WooCommerce store. Reporting data is generated from available WooCommerce order and product data and stored in your WordPress database — it never leaves your site. Pro adds optional AI executive summaries that call OpenAI or Anthropic Claude using your own API key, so you stay in control of which AI provider sees your store data and can switch providers or turn the feature off entirely.
What VerdantCart is not
VerdantCart is not a carbon certification service, offset marketplace, legal compliance tool, or audited environmental reporting system. It is a visibility and reporting tool that helps stores understand estimated emissions from available WooCommerce data.
Our direction
Our long-term mission is to make carbon reporting more accessible for ecommerce teams and help WooCommerce stores become more climate-aware over time. VerdantCart is built to move emissions from invisible data to clearer operational decisions.
